Your right it is far from the best photo I have ever taken, but it is of total strangers and I got up enough nerve to ask if I could take their photo. Thats when nerves took over, wrong settings and flash. But I will do better next time.

Good for you. I was at my daughter's high school graduation this past Saturday and concentrated on trying to get photos of she and her friends. Only later did I realize that I had been in the perfect situation to take photos of other people. I'm not a people photographer, but would like to be. I'm to timid. Oh, well.
Yours might not be as good a photograph as you hoped, but it represents a step forward, to ask and take photos of stranger. Well done.
