GRASS FIRE

Took this photo on my way home from work today.

Went to take photos of turtles sunning themselves on the logs, unfortunately they were timid and jumped into the water on our approach.

But this fellow was on the concrete ledge that ran just under the bridge where we were standing. Kept my camera on him thinking he might attempt the jump to the shore. He did 2 minutes after I started to snap away at the scenery.

CHURCH Just for something different, this is the chapel in the tower of London. It's on one of the upper floors and the first sight of it is quite incredible. It's quite small in width and depth, but as you can see the columns are huge and just soar upwards. Where as most of the rest of the building is quite dark this has that lovely natural light comming through the windows.

DRAGONFLY Well I have finally got a half decent pic of a dragonfly.

ROUND ROBINS
The round robin challenge for this week is KITCHEN. Now that is a funny one for me to participate in, as I never cook anymore.Well I do make the ocassional pasta or noodles.
We have been renovating for the ages and it never seems to get finished. Yes note the plumbing pipes on show as there is no cupboard doors.

This is one of my favourite and only photos of the kitchen. This was the scene that greeted us when we arrived home after 9 months away. My son and DIL had dusted and freshened the house up and the grandchildren decorated.
The best things about my kitchen are the views from the 3 windows. Well one is actually a sliding glass door out onto the deck.

Wether it is the distant hills. Or the many birds that visit the trees.

Or the bees that visit the plants that line the deck.

I never grow bored with the views that greet me first thing in the morning and you will be more likely to find me snapping away, rather than cooking.

Saw the usual balloons this am. so walked up the hill to get some photos of them over the valley. Had just got the camera out when this magpie started to swoop at me. He is waiting for me to turn my back so he can have another shot. I was hoping he would swoop when I faced him, had the camera ready, but he grew bored before I did. And the balloons, well they went out the other way.

Its been raining again.
So the frogs are out.

I was trying to get a photo of the rain falling, while standing under an umbrella. Then noticed how the water was running off the umbrella and splashing onto the Bar-B-Q.
